The Beauty of Many Homes

Beauty of Many Homes I @SatuVW I Destination Unknown

One of the beauties of having many places you can call home despite not owning property in all (or none) of them? In May I got to celebrate my second mother’s day within the first six months of being a new mom! First in Norway, then in Finland. Maybe I should pick my next destination based on where Mother’s day is next. Luxembourg and Kenya are celebrating soon!

Even though these celebrations took place a while ago, returning back to Norway this week after being on the road for three months got me thinking about our many “homes”.  Our travels often take us, year after year, to the same good ol’ places. Boring, you might think. Home away from home, I think. Campertogno, the small mountain village in the Italian Alps with beautiful food, great friends and amazing kayaking. Where they know that on a sunny day I would love a glass of prosecco. And that meat is not on my menu. Slovenia. Our real second home with a project of a house that is waiting for us to do some more work on it. And more friends. Devon in England. The pubs, wild ponies in the moor and again some more friends.

I’m all for traveling to new places and experiencing new cultures. But sometimes it’s just good to return to home.  One of the many.
