Beautiful Ireland in Five Images

We have been traveling around Ireland for the past two weeks and all I can say, Ireland has been good to us, once again.

Since coming back, our household has turned more or less into a madhouse though. Our bags are partly unpacked. The washing machine is spinning like crazy. Miss Mini has caught a sudden stomach bug contributing partly to the washing machine overload and today our small apartment will fill to the brim as one of my very good friends will make the trek from Finland, and join us with her three kids for a long weekend.

To cut to the chase, it’s super busy days back here in Norway, but I didn’t want to miss this Thursday’s Instagram Travel Thursday and hence I am here with five images only. You can call it a cop-out. I will call it “the wish to participate in Instagram Travel Thursday even though I don’t have time to weave together stories”. Instead, it’s five Instagram images of beautiful Ireland, kind of preview of what’s in store for the coming weeks as I put together the images with the words.

So here we go…

It all started in Dublin, the way it usually does. With bit of rain. With bit of sunshine. And everything else in between.

I had forgotten about Irish the rainbows. Nowhere else have I seen as many, and here is one from the north where we went chasing giants.

This was my first time venturing to Northern Ireland and I was amazed. We met a land of history, sandy beaches and surf. And one shaky rope bridge sitting 30m/100ft above stormy sea. Although that bit about the sea I can’t be quite sure about, I didn’t look down!

Did you know that the west coast town of Sligo just could be THE adventure capital of Ireland? Neither did I, but I wouldn’t deny it either as we got to explore the surrounding sea, lake and mountains with surfboards, stand-up paddle boards, bikes and our own two feet.

I wouldn’t complain about the sunsets in Strandhill, county Sligo either.

And this is what it is all about, really.

Good food.

Good friends (well, why not friends).

Good times.
